Darebin Mayors Writing Awards for Young People

The Darebin Mayors Writing Awards is a new initiative to celebrate and share the creative writing of young people living and studying in the City of Darebin. Following on from the success of the much-loved Mayors Writing Awards (Adult) we are pleased to announce a series of awards for primary and secondary school aged writers. 

We are taking entries via our webpage and a simple online form. Primary school writers may need help to fill in the online form and upload writing. And don’t forget to add all contact details. 

The awards are for all types of writing including poetry, short story, fiction, fantasy, Sci-Fi.

1200 word limit. One entry per person. We accept word docs. Please no iPad docs, pdfs or photos/images.

A fabulous panel of local writers for young people, will decide on the winners. 

Judges: Judith Rossell, Nicki Greenberg, Thai Snaith and Michael Pryor

Second Prize – primary and secondary $250 cash
