YOUR PLATFORM is an opportunity for artists who identify as living with a disability to present a show as part of Darebin Arts Speakeasy’s 2018 Melbourne Fringe season.

A performance work for the Northcote Town Hall’s for Studio 1 or Studio 2 is being sought.

The Darebin Arts Development program supports artists by providing access to fully equipped theatre spaces and a $700 stipend. Developments should be for a new artistic work that has performance at the heart of its creation.

Artists are given the opportunity to develop a new work within one of our venue studios or meeting rooms. Creative Development dates are subject to venue availability. They can vary from script readings, physical work, exploration and rehearsals showings.

Darebin Art’s Speakeasy program partners with leading artists and companies to provide the highest quality experiences to audiences at the Northcote Town Hall. As detailed in the Creative Darebin Arts Strategy 2014–2021 – we program high quality work from artistic leaders and companies in the small to medium sector to be an integral part of the cultural ecology of Melbourne and Australia’s artistic landscape.

Arts Partnership Initiative, which aims to create new partnerships that enable inclusive artistic collaborations within Darebin. The Arts Partnership Initiative contributes to a key ambition of the Creative Darebin Arts Strategy 2014-2020: to increase access and meaningful participation in the arts for priority communities.

You can apply for either: Stream 1: Project Partnerships or Stream 2: Key Cultural Organisations.

Funding requests for both streams are capped at $8,000. Please read the Arts Partnership Initiative Guidelines before starting your application.

Until June 30, Darebin City Council will be offering free hot desking space in the Level One North Office for artists and producers to use free of charge. There are computers and a docking station available for use and a number of desks available with free wifi accessible.

Please note that this is a shared ‘quiet’ space and is not appropriate for meetings, workshops, etc..

To book a hot desking space please email Samantha.Butterworth@darebin.vic.gov.au with at least two full day’s notice.

The artist or company must have at least one Key Creative living, working or studying in Darebin.
