The Darebin Mayor’s Writing Awards

The Darebin Mayor’s Writing Award is an annual award for writers who live, work or study in the City of Darebin. This year’s theme is recovery.

We want to read your stories. poems, fiction and non fiction on the theme  of recovery.

As we emerge from lockdowns, pandemic living and from home offices the Darebin Mayors Writing Awards 2021 aim to gather the writing that document’s this unique process, as well as creative responses to recovery. This year’s theme encompasses notions of resilience, reinvigoration, connection, of loss and discovery.

The theme can be applied in a range of creative ways. Both personal and pandemic the judges are looking for original writing, thats fresh and authentic.

The announcemet of the Darebin Mayors Writing Awards is on Wednesday 2 June at 7.30pm at Darebin Arts Centre, Preston. All enterants will be invited to this event. The winners will be posted on this page the following day.
