Rozalind Drummond – Process Blue, Nature Trips, Corduroy, Pine Shelving
‘Kingsbury’ forms the backdrop to Rozalind Drummond’s latest exhibition. Kingsbury was a half-way house and alternative school once adjacent to the now demolished Mont Park Hospital located near Bundoora Homestead. In the 1970s Kingsbury embraced both an insular and experimental culture, taking form in encounter sessions, consciousness raising, group discussions, readings ‘out-loud’ and performance. Rozalind mines this complex history through digital photography, film and found imagery, including film stills, magazines and books from an array of sources. The work suggests a series of fabricated scenarios, depicting trans-historical meetings, associations and plausible narratives about people and spaces that once occupied Kingsbury.
