Morning Music 2018 – Jazz and the Silver Screen

Event Details

Hook Turn Orchestra featuring Alinta Chidzey presents Jazz and the Silver Screen.

Showcasing songs regarded as jazz classics and selections from celebrated film scores, this concert presents music that sprang to life on the silver screen. Stunning vocals of musical theatre star Alinta Chidzey – West Side Story, Singin’ in the Rain, Jesus Christ Superstar – are accompanied by an ensemble of Melbourne’s most versatile musicians, with members of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria, melding worlds of jazz and classical concert halls.

From the salon of Melbourne Recital Centre to their recent inclusion of Arts Centre Melbourne / Hamer Hall Morning Melodies series, Jazz and the Silver Screen features toe-tapping tunes from ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ to ‘Round Midnight’. Not to be missed!
